Whether you’re enjoying a handful with your morning breakfast or sharing it at your next holiday gathering, this mix is guaranteed to be a hit.

What’s great about this recipe is its versatility—you can mix and match your favorite nuts to suit your taste. From pecans and almonds to cashews and walnuts, the cinnamon and maple syrup coating takes any combination to the next level. Plus, I couldn’t resist trying the same process with popcorn, and let me tell you, it’s a game-changer! The spiced popcorn comes out perfectly caramelized and pairs wonderfully with a handful of lower-sugar dried cranberries for that holiday vibe.

The best part? It’s easy to make! Just whip up the cinnamon mixture, toss it with your nuts or popcorn, and bake. Your kitchen will smell like Christmas, and you’ll have a treat that’s perfect for snacking, gifting, or adding to your festive dessert table. Just be careful—pecans and popcorn can burn quickly, so keep an eye on the oven!

Holiday Cinnamon Nut Mix Recipe

This crunchy, sweet-and-spiced snack is perfect for holiday gifting or munching! A mix of nuts coated in a maple-cinnamon blend is baked to golden perfection. Swap in popcorn for a lighter twist, and finish with dried cranberries for a festive touch. Quick, easy, and totally irresistible!

Ingredients

  • 1 egg white
  • 1 1/2 tbsp of cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp coarse salt
  • Dash or two of allspice, nutmeg or pumpkin spice
  • 1/2 cup of maple syrup
  • 8 cups of nuts

Instructions

  1. Beat egg white until fluffy and stiff in a large bowl.
  2. Add cinnamon, course salt, spice of choice (allspice, nutmeg or pumpkin spice), and maple syrup to the whipped egg whites
  3. Combine with the beaters you used to stiffen the egg whites
  4. Add 8 cups of nuts and mix thoroughly so nuts are covered. If you have extra cinnamon mixture, add more nuts.
  5. Cook in an oven at about 325 F (convection if you have it) for about 15 minutes until golden.
  6. Add lower-sugar dried cranberries for finish.

Notes

I did the same thing with the popcorn but use 4 tbsp granulated date sugar instead of maple syrup. The popcorn only needed 5 minutes to cook. 10 minutes burnt my first batch.

If using pecans as some of your nuts bring the temperature down 25 degrees and keep an eye on them. Pecans burn easily.
